There seems to be the problem after installing touchpal on Omnia..
Occasionally but almost everyday.. the phone will hang and requires a soft reset.  Omnia screen will not wake up.

I'm sure quite a few omnia users had encountered the problem and  is frustrated for not being able to use a good keyboard. Hopeful CooTek can look into our plight soon. Thanks.

Not sure if it will help but for me,
I can only say most of the time Omnia hangs when there are appointment reminders with touchpal installed.

I'm trying touchpal now with chinese language uninstalled and changing different setting hopefully can find the root of the cause.

I'm also having the same problem using Touchpal with my Omnia -- the screen freezes when it is trying to wake-up. I really love this program and hope that Cootek can find a solution to this problem. Thanks!

Hello,

My omnia also freezes when I use touchpal, I can't wake it, have to remove the battery, and I also have chinese input installed (ZTA4+sunglobe.cab)

I have tried a lot of keyboard and touchpal really is the best, so I hope this can be fixed!

thanks in advance

"Quoted from another thread elsewhere"
Yes, Touchpal works nicely.
FTouchSL is the conflicting app that cause omnia to suffer "hypersomnia" - sleep too much and refuse to wake up (especially after charging) and instability.

I hope you can help us Omnia users to resolve this issue. really love the keyboard. But i can't afford the device to go into "hypersomnia" so often.

We don't have Omnia so we can't figure out the problem. But some users on Omnia seem to use TouchPal correctly.

Any Omnia user can have TouchPal work properly? (or you met the same issue, pls also post here) Thanks!

Hmz... I've done a hard reset and reinstalled touchpal into device memory. So far there hasn't been a black out problem. Perhaps other users should try installing it into device memory instead of storage. Could be the reason for the blackout's. Keeping my fingers crossed and hope hypersomnia doesn't come back to haunt me.

My Settings:-

Add space after word

Enhance mistyping correction

Predict based on context -----

Predict next word

Set as Default SIP

Enable sound effect

What I type

I type (without “)

“I was wondering where you were”

The fault

After typing were and selecting space, the Omnia does a soft reset. This consistently happens.)

The Short term fix

If I Deselect “Predict based on context” but leave all other settings as above then there is no problem. So it would appear the bug is associated with the selection of “Predict based on context”. Hope this helps.

I am getting a reset on my Omnia when using TouchPal sometimes. I have been able to isolate the problem. Hopefully this will help you find the conflict and organise a permanent Fix.

I didn't know why my Omnia kept freezing up until my colleague installed the touchpal and it hung his set 1 hour later.  So that's 2 sets of Omnia with (G4 ROM).  Omnia refuses to turn on after the auto power off.  I remember I tried installing both in Memory and on "my storage", no diff.

So I can almost confirm that Touchpal hangs the Omnia.  I have since hard reset and have not installed the Touchpal.  Monitoring if it hang due to other software installed.

Hi,

Any news on the solution for this problem? I love the keyboard but can not use it on my Omnia because of the constant hanging.

There is no other keyboard that comes close on the Omnia (IMO) so currently no alternatives.

Please keep us up to date on your findings.

Thanks,

Paul

Any news on a solution for this issue? My phone hangs one to three times a day. By "hangs" I mean it refuses to wake-up occassionally. A tap of the power button does nothing and holding it down for several seconds is no different. It won't charge or respond to phone calls when it is in this state.

Once in a great while there is a little twist to this: It wakes up after 30 to 40 seconds but is completely frozen and unresponsive. I can't find any rhyme or reason to it. All programs can be closed and it makes no difference.
